Topics: Micromobility
Tags: Scooter, Portland, Washington, Brookline
Scooters and other micromobility devices are popping up everywhere across the country and disrupting traditional allocations of road space. Where do they belong? At what speed? Can they provide access to underserved neighborhoods? Do they address transit deserts? What populations are willing to adopt this technology? Is shared better than individually owned? A local municipality must ask these questions and come up with answers in order to provide a fair and even playing field as we enter the 21st Century modality, especially in a post-pandemic world.
Drawing on their experiences in Portland, Ore., Washington, DC, and Brookline, Mass., speakers will discuss such issues as scooter policies, user surveys, managing vendors and digital parking corrals.
