A lot of growth is happening in the Upper Valley region of Vermont, around White River Junction. It’s a great time to consider how the community is built and options for getting around.
Mpact:LAB, working with AARP Vermont and local stakeholders facilitated a transit field trip to King Arthur Baking Company. It was a chance for older adults in the White River Junction area to experience riding the bus and get to know the local providers and routes.Â
Using transit for the first time can be challenging for people of all ages. Figuring out how to use it can involve a shift in how a person experiences place and people. There are great upsides for older adults, especially given that many choose to age in place. Familiarity with transit can lead to greater independence and overall mobility.
