Baltimore, MD

January 2025

A home daycare in Maryland State Delegate Robbyn Lewis’s Baltimore district was at risk of losing licensure for taking children across a busy street to play in the park. When you can’t even cross the street safely, what does that mean for your neighborhood and quality of life?

AARP Maryland and Mpact:LAB had the opportunity to host a mini “think tank” session on transportation and quality of life during the Baltimore City Legislative Delegation’s annual “City on the Go” Transportation Summit. The LAB facilitated table talks between residents and delegates. Participants – from everyday bus riders to entrepreneurs to PhDs – shared perspectives about the state of mobility in Baltimore City: what’s working, what could be better, who benefits and how to move forward.
