Stakeholder Convening
South Carolina
In South Carolina, most of the resources for public transportation end up being dedicated to a few larger urban areas, leaving the rest of the more rural state to fend for themselves. With a growing population urged an opportunity to take a fresh approach.
AARP and the Transportation Association of South Carolina (TASC) wanted to take the temperature of transit providers and transit-adjacent professionals. The intent was to help shape priorities for TASC support and resource development. LAB facilitated the work of local partners to strategize a 3-part approach: 1) a “state of the state” survey for public transportation providers, 2) a virtual convening to discuss shared challenges and opportunities, and 3) an in-person follow up discussion as part of the TASC Annual Conference and Expo.
