Cross the Delaware River to explore development and place-making initiatives in Camden, NJ, including: the Walter Rand Transportation Center, a hub for the Port Authority Transportation Corporation (PATCO) and NJ TRANSIT; the Camden Waterfront entertainment and commercial district just south of the Benjamin Franklin Bridge; and historic Cooper Street, which tells a story of past transportation as a ferry hub and of urban transformation from residential to professional to commercial. Also check out Roosevelt Plaza, a public open space in front of City Hall, site of several stages of place making activation, from pop-up installations to rainwater collection to interactive health and wellness elements. You’ll ride PATCO trains and NJ TRANSIT bus and light rail and hear from local leaders and practitioners.
