Sasha C. Mendez, M.S. (She/Her/Ella) is a people-centered urban planner, storyteller, and social impact strategist based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Sitting at the nexus of public health strategic planning, equitable community engagement, and capacity building, Sasha approaches city building as an opportunity to amplify community identity and voice, and to provide just platforms for communities to plan their futures and collaboratively address the biggest challenges communities face in today’s cities.
Sasha currently serves as the Choice Neighborhoods Grant Implementation Project manager for Bartram Choice and is leading neighborhood revitalization planning for the Bartram Village Kingsessing Southwest boundary. Additionally, she is a member of SEPTA’s Citizen Advisory Committee, a steering committee member for the 2035 Philadelphia Comprehensive Plan update, and a graduate of the Philadelphia Planning Commission’s Citizens Planning Institute.
