Phillip Cherry
Senior Project Manager, Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA)
Boston, MA
I have a combined 13 years as a transportation planner and engineer, the last two of which have been spent on the MBTA’s Transit Priority team. Prior to joining the MBTA, I was a consultant in Atlanta and Boston, where much of my work supported MARTA and then later, my current team at the MBTA, on a variety of transit priority and transit facility projects. Over the past 5 years, I’ve been involved in the planning, design, or construction of over fifteen different transit priority projects. These have ranged from queue jump lanes and transit signal priority projects to bus stops and a variety of center-running bus lane projects at various stages of planning, design, and post-construction improvements. I am currently serving as the Transit Priority Senior Project Manager on the Tremont/Columbus and Blue Hill Avenue center-running bus lane projects. These roles include outreach, planning, and design responsibilities along with significant internal and external agency coordination and design consultant oversight.
