Michael Matthys

Michael is an urban planner dedicated to creating more livable, sustainable, and inclusive communities through design. His professional experience spans a range of sectors and across project timelines from concept development to implementation. Currently, Michael is working as a planning entitlement lead for a number of Transit Oriented Developments in Toronto along the Ontario Line, one of the largest transit infrastructure projects in North America. He has also worked on the Valley Line LRT in Edmonton and the Hurontario LRT in Mississauga. Michael enjoys engaging directly with clients and stakeholders in collaborative planning processes to formulate and achieve innovative and progressive outcomes. His experience leading and managing complex public and private sector projects includes projects for municipalities, the Canadian government, private developers, universities, colleges, private schools, hospitals, and cultural institutions.
