Ann Shikany is Deputy Assistant Secretary for Transportation Policy at the U.S. Department of Transportation. Shikany is working to implement the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Inflation Reduction Act, with a focus on climate solutions, building thriving communities, and job creation. She initially joined the U.S. Department of Transportation as Chief of Staff to the Deputy Secretary in October 2021. Previously Shikany held positions at Natural Resources Defense Council, the Portland (Oregon) Bureau of Transportation, and the U.S. Department of Energy. Her policy background includes infrastructure finance, transit, active transportation, electric vehicle infrastructure deployment, congestion pricing, and women’s economic empowerment. Shikany holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Kenyon College and a Master of Arts in International Relations from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
