If you live in the Philadelphia area and are not able to attend the full Mpact Transit + Community conference, consider volunteering. It’s a great way to share your love of the city and the region.
Volunteers sign up for shifts to assist with events, at the conference hotel and off-site. In return, they get an equal amount of time to attend sessions and meet practitioners, leaders and advocates from across North America.
Volunteers guide conference goers to the Welcome Reception or the Tuesday night PK Slam. Or help support Mobile Workshops or the Local Information table. Shifts require as little as a 4-hour time commitment between Saturday, October 19, and Wednesday, October 23.
Check out all the options and sign up here.
Volunteer Benefits
- Time to attend the conference (proportionate to the amount of time spent volunteering).
- Networking with practitioners, leaders and advocates.
- T-shirt featuring the conference artwork.
From Sunday to Wednesday, the Mpact Transit + Community conference presents 60+ sessions, energizing plenaries and networking events. Curated by our National Steering Committee, the sessions dig into multiple aspects of transit-oriented communities, from the modes themselves (bus, BRT and rail) to street design and corridor planning to transit-oriented development, finance and affordable housing. The conference draws attendees who want to grapple with challenges, hear multiple perspectives and share innovative approaches. Check out the Schedule at a Glance and the Conference Schedule for details.
Huge thanks to Mark Alisesky (who works at HDR) and Benjamin She (who works at the City of Philadelphia) for leading up the volunteer effort this year. They are part of the Philadelphia Local Host team.Â
