Use the Word document provided (download it from the Speakers page) to prepare your proposal. Submit by March 21, midnight Pacific time, to be considered to be a speaker in Portland!
How are you meeting the challenges facing transit-oriented communities?Â
Across North America, transit is a lifeline to education, jobs, economic development and access to opportunity. Transit-oriented communities are places where work, housing and key destinations are in reach by multimodal options (transit, bicycling, walking, sharing). Transit-oriented communities offer big household savings and more efficient use of resources.
The 2025 Call for Speakers seeks proposals from practitioners, leaders, policy makers and advocates who can share the challenges they are facing along with innovative solutions, real world experience and approaches that ensure outcomes benefit the full community. Tell us how you are meeting the challenges facing transit-oriented communities today. How are you working to expand options and opportunities for the whole community served by transit, mobility and development? What innovative policies, practical solutions and real-world experience can you share?

The 2025 Mpact Transit + Community Conference returns to Portland, Oregon
The 2025 conference will be in Portland, Ore., October 26-29, where the movement to build livable communities around transit first took shape, at Rail~Volution in 1995. From our founding as Rail~Volution through our rebranding in 2022 as Mpact, our guiding idea is that whatever the project, it is crucial to deliver it thoughtfully, ensuring that it truly benefits and provides return on investment to the communities it serves. The conference continues to grow and evolve, bringing new ideas and approaches to the ever-changing mobility, technology and development landscape.
The Mpact Transit + Community conference is produced by Mpact, a national nonprofit organization. The 2025 local hosts are the City of Portland Bureau of Transportation, TriMet, and Oregon Metro.
