About the Mpact Innovators
The Mpact Innovators are a national networking group welcoming the next generation of industry leaders and thinkers. Mpact Innovators provide networking and learning opportunities, share innovative new approaches and help develop new leaders.
The group innovates for:
- The Mpact Transit + Community Conference, by offering that are welcoming and accessible for attendees new to the industry, while also open to all conference attendees. At the conference, the Mpact Innovators organize Idea Exchanges, Wellness Activities, Walking Tours and the Mpact PK Slam (powered by PechaKucha™), a Tuesday night favorite. Mpact Innovators also host an informal welcome out on the town the Saturday before our annual transit and community development conference opens. Innovators incorporate fresh ideas throughout the conference.
- The Mpact National Steering Committee, by providing input on the needs, concerns, and work of new professionals, taking on hot topics, and testing out new session and conference formats.
- Mpact, by suggesting and exploring ways to further support emerging professionals at and beyond the conference.
Mpact Innovators always are considering new things, for the conference and beyond.
Mpact Innovators presents: Coffee Chats
Join us for a recurring series of virtual meetups to discuss hot topics in the transit, land use, and community development world. Come ready with a cup of coffee (or your favorite bev!) to connect with peers in a casual way, share your ideas and hear from others. Professionals from all experience levels are welcome!

- May 9 – Housing & TOD
- July 11 – Funding for transit
- Sept 12– Public engagement
- Nov 14 – Lessons from 2025 Mpact Transit + Community conference
Come to as many as you want! Each chat is from 10 - 11am Central.

The PK Slam, powered by PechaKucha™, is a highlight of the annual conference. Each speaker gets 20 slides and 20 seconds for each. It’s one of the most pointed and funny evenings you’ll ever enjoy at a conference. This video gives you a taste.
